1) I went back to work this week and had a great time meeting my new students.

2) I had a relaxing day on Monday, all meetings I had planned cancelled so I watched movies all day.

3) Doug is very diligent with his new P90x3 DVDs, he is loving it!

4) I bought 2 glass water bottles from Lifefactory and I'm loving them!

5) I was able to meet with another counselor and the Pastor at my church about new ideas to bring counseling services to my community.

Have a great weekend,

Friday Fab Five!

Ok, so in order to keep me more committed to blogging I decided to start a recap of our week called "Friday Fab 5." So here it goes:

1) We had a great New Year! My mom and dad came over to help take down decorations and to help with minor repairs around the house.

2) It's cold today!! High of 56, woohoo!! The dogs are in their winter jackets.

3) I started a Bible study with my mom and her friend Karen. It is called the Inductive study method, so far I really like it and look forward to learning more about Scripture.

4) I'm planning for a girls trip with my best friends coming up in the Spring!! Cannot wait, hotel is booked!

5) I'm looking forward to all the wonderful blessings 2014 holds!!

Have a great weekend!!

Merry Christmas!!

I hope that everyone has a very Merry Christmas!  Christmas is always a very buys day for us.  We go to 3 different houses on Christmas!!  But we always have such a great time with our families.  I know it is so easy to get wrapped up with buying gifts, attending Christmas parties/events and etc. but here is a clip from one of my favorite Christmas movies to remind you of what "Christmas is all about…"

Our Wedding Trailer

I cannot believe it has been over a year since Doug and I were married! At times it seems like we have been married for a few days and other times it seems like we have been together forever. On our anniversary Alex and Samm from Imprint Cinemas sent us a wonderful gift, our wedding video! They also created a wedding trailer for all of our friends and family to enjoy. So here it is…

Those moments...

Do you ever have those moments that remind you what's important??  I had one of those today.  I have a feeling most of you can relate to me with this, but I have a tendency to allow trivial things upset me or get me down.  I also sometimes focus more on the negative than I do on the positive.  And then I have one of those moments… these moments that I call a "life check."  I just happened to stubble upon a movie while looking for Christmas movies on Netflix today (Yes, I know it is November).  I came across this movie called "The Heart of Christmas."  This movie tells the true story of a family who has a child with leukemia who they believe will not make it until Christmas, I'll stop there to not give too much of the story away.  After watching this it reminded me that the trivial things in life that I focus on is not what God has for me or any of us.  Each of these things steal our joy and as Scripture states, "The joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:10).  So rather than focusing on what is upsetting me or the negative things in life I want to focus on the joys in life.  I want to cherish every moment of my life with those I love, because no matter how hard life may be at times, there is always JOY.

My Bouquet

Hi everyone.  I am so excited about a new piece of "artwork" in my house.  It's my wedding bouquet!  After my wedding day my mom took my bouquet and mailed it to a place called Keepsake Floral in Orlando, Fl, a bouquet preservation company.  They were so nice with helping me with the design of my bouquet preservation.  They have so many options!!!  So here it is.

Have a great day!

My Favorite Holiday

So most of you who know me know that I love The 4th of July.  It is one of my favorite holidays.  I absolutely love fireworks, time with family, BBQ... but most importantly this amazing country we live in and those who gave their lives for us.

Since this is my favorite holiday, I love to decorate my house with festive red, white and blue decor. This last weekend Doug and I decorated.  Here's a taste of what I did this year -

The wreath on the top left corner I made with a foam circle, straight pins and several different spools of festive 4th of July ribbon I bought from Hobby Lobby.  I made two of them for our front french doors.  Everything else I bought at JoAnn's Fabric and Southern Hospitality.

Have a great day,

Jessica
